2025-26 Mite Registration

We hope you are looking forward to the 2025-26 season! We are excited about the upcoming season and welcome all returning and new Falcons hockey families.

Families that register before June 15 will receive $100 off each player registration. Families that register before July 1 will be entered into a drawing for one of three prizes (one entry for reach registered player), a $500 or $250 Amazon gift card or $100 Starbucks gift card.

We believe hockey is for everyone and we have a program for every skill level including CSDHL, CUHL (Mites) and House. Based on your feedback, improvements have been made for the 2025-26 season to maximize development at all ages and skill levels. Our core objective is the development of our players, both on and off the ice. We've added more ice time, more puck touches, and structured practice at all levels. Team sizes have been adjusted to maximize these benefits. Ultimately, our goal is to foster an environment that supports individual development, better team play, and a more positive overall experience for all of our players.

Below you will find more information about improvements in our Travel, House and Goalie programs, season fees, and the uniform package.

We are laser-focused on sustaining and evolving Falcons Hockey as a leader in Tier 2 hockey in Illinois. This is achieved by having the best coaches, smaller team sizes, the most ice time, structured development, and ongoing player feedback as we continue to build exceptional hockey players with a lifelong love of the game. We hope you will join us on this journey by registering today. See you on the ice!

TRAVEL

We are targeting smaller team sizes for next season. Final team numbers may shift based on final registrations, but current targeted sizes are 10 skaters for our Mite teams.

We have also added an additional practice for each travel team every two weeks. All travel teams will have two team practices during the week, plus a skills or small area games session every Monday, for a total of three practices per week. This represents a 20% increase in practice time versus prior years. The format for the skills and small area games sessions will be structured over the full season by our new Skills Director, Matt Ford (Ford Hockey School). There will also be regularly scheduled video sessions for each team tailored to age-appropriate material.

We’re also excited to announce that the Falcons program is moving toward forming mixed birth year teams, stepping away from the traditional birth-year-only model. This shift will create more opportunities for players to challenge themselves and grow, allowing kids who are ready to compete at a higher level the chance to "play up" at that level.

By focusing on skill and team fit rather than age alone, this approach will lead to stronger, more balanced teams across all levels. It also helps us better align with how other programs are evolving, reducing mismatches and promoting a more consistent level of competition.

HOUSE

Our new Skills Director, Matt Ford, and our experienced Hockey Directors, Bob Heelan, Nick Meo and Tom Miller, will be directly involved in the early development of our players, including Learn to Skate, Mighty Mite, Super Mite, and in our House programs. We are also excited to have Nick Vogt running the weekly practices on the ice with players and volunteer coaches. These practices will be based on consistent weekly practice plans created by the Directors to ensure solid development for all players. Hockey Directors will be in attendance regularly, giving the kids the opportunity to learn from some of our best coaches.

We are excited to bring more structure and consistency to our early development and House programs, allowing players to learn, develop, have fun, and grow their love for the game!

GOALIE

In addition to the continued guidance and oversight provided by our Goalie Director, Mark Passalino, we have partnered with Goalie Nation Academy (goalienationacademy.com), to help our goalies developer their skills. Goalie Nationa Academy is run by two former NCAA D1 goalies with ties to our club, Evan Fear and Jonathan Mor. Goalie Nation and Coach Passalino will be running age-specific goalie clinics at the same time every Sunday afternoon, with weekend games scheduled to reduce conflicts and maximize the opportunity for clinic attendance. In addition to Sunday clinics, goalie coaches will also be on ice for Monday skill sessions to further work with our goalies. Goalie coaches will also attend select games throughout the year to observe game play and all goalies will receive goalie-specific video sessions throughout the season.
