Squirt-Midget Registration
We hope you are looking forward to the 2026–27 season! We are excited about the upcoming season and welcome all returning and new Falcons hockey families.
We believe hockey is for everyone, and we have a program for every skill level, including CSDHL, CUHL (Mites), and House. Based on your feedback, improvements have been made for the 2026–27 season to maximize development at all ages and skill levels. Our core objective is the development of our players, both on and off the ice. We’ve added more ice time, more puck touches, and structured practices at all levels. Team sizes have also been adjusted to maximize these benefits.
Ultimately, our goal is to foster an environment that supports individual development, stronger team play, and a more positive overall experience for all of our players.
Below you will find more information about improvements in our Travel, House, and Goalie programs, season fees, and the uniform package.
We are laser-focused on sustaining and evolving Falcons Hockey as a leader in Tier II hockey in Illinois. This is achieved by having the best coaches, smaller team sizes, increased ice time, structured development, and ongoing player feedback as we continue to build exceptional hockey players with a lifelong love of the game.
We hope you will join us on this journey by registering today. See you on the ice!

TRAVEL
At Falcons Hockey Association, we are continuing our commitment to smaller team sizes to maximize development, increase puck touches, and create more opportunities for players throughout the season. Final roster sizes will continue to be evaluated based on registration numbers and what best supports player development at each level.
Following the success of last season’s enhanced development model, all travel teams will again receive:
- Two full team practices during the week
- One weekly skills or small-area games session on Mondays
This continued structure provides each team with three ice sessions per week and reinforces our commitment to maximizing player development through increased repetitions, puck touches, and structured instruction.
The Monday skills and small-area games curriculum will once again be fully structured throughout the season by our Skills Director, Matt Ford of Ford Hockey School. In addition, teams will continue participating in regularly scheduled video sessions tailored to age-appropriate concepts and player development.
For the 2026–27 season, Falcons will also be applying for birth-year teams at various age levels. This structure will create additional opportunities for players to compete at the appropriate developmental level while continuing to strengthen the overall competitiveness and balance of our program.
As youth hockey continues to evolve, we remain focused on providing a development-first environment that gives every player the opportunity to grow, compete, and succeed both individually and as part of a team.
HOUSE
Our Skills Director, Matt Ford, and our experienced Hockey Directors, Bob Heelan, Nick Meo and Tom Miller, will be directly involved in the development of our players, for Squirt and Peewee House League. We are also excited to have Chris Affinati running the weekly practices on the ice with players and volunteer coaches. These practices will be based on consistent weekly practice plans created by the Directors to ensure solid development for all players. Hockey Directors will be in attendance regularly, giving the kids the opportunity to learn from some of our best coaches.
We are excited to bring more structure and consistency to our early development and House programs, allowing players to learn, develop, have fun, and grow their love for the game!
GOALIE
FHA is excited to announce that in addition to the ongoing leadership by Goalie Director; Mark Passalino, we are continuing our partnership with Goalie Nation Academy (goalienationacademy.com). Goalie Nation is led by former NCAA D1 goalies with connections to the Falcons. Coaches will conduct age-specific goalie clinics every Monday. This scheduling will minimize conflicts and maximize the opportunity for clinic attendance. In addition to Monday clinics, goalie coaches will be on the ice for team practices in a rotating schedule throughout the season. Goalie coaches will also attend select games throughout the year. Furthermore, all goalies will receive goalie-specific video review sessions throughout the season. Mental coaching and goalie specific teachings will be emphasized. Additional details of the full goalie offering will be communicated as we approach the season. We look forward to welcoming back coaches Evan Fear and Jon Mor. Look forward to welcoming some new faces of talented and vetted coaches soon.
