    GLASA Falcons faced off against the Lake Forest College Men's and Women's hockey teams on Tuesday, January 17 at 7:00 a.m. at Lake Forest College (LFC) to promote its upcoming fundraising event, The Sleds Are Coming! Don't miss the 2nd Annual "The Sleds Are Coming" event on February 12, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at LFC!

    2011 - 2012 Season Games

    GLASA Falcons vs. RIC Blackhawks Men's B Team

    The GLASA Falcons hosted the RIC Blackhawks Men's B team at Hot Shot Ice Arena on Sunday, March 4. The GLASA Falcons skated to a 2 to 0 shutout! Highlights include great goals from J. Kasamis and B. Spengel (his first of the year!!!), strong team play throughout the game and a stellar effort in net by D. Melchiorre! Way to go GLASA Falcons! 

    GLASA Falcons vs. Hornet's Youth Team

    The GLASA Falcons hosted the Hornets' youth team at Hot Sot Ice Arena on Sunday, February 26. The Hornets skated to a 3 to 1 victory. Despite the loss, GLASA Falcons closed the gap with this team and is looking forward to a rematch in 2012-2013. The momentum is shifting!!! GO GLASA FALCONS!!!

    GLASA Falcons vs. LFA's Prep Team

    The GLASA Falcons hosted Lake Forest Academy's Prep team at Hot Shot Ice Arena on Sunday, February 19. And although the GLASA Falcons skated to a 6 to 2 victory, LFA put together two great goals in the third period to build some momentum! LFA is looking forward to a rematch in 2012-2013!

    GLASA Falcons vs. Madison Warriors' youth team

     The GLASA Falcons traveled to Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday, February 18 to play the Madison Warriors' youth team. The GLASA Falcons skated to a 3 to 1 victory and enjoyed a team dinner celebration at Babe's following the game! Great effort GLASA Falcons!

    GLASA Give Thanks to Lake Forest High School Varsity Team

    The GLASA Falcons give thanks to the Lake Forest High School (LFHS) Varsity team for raising over $3,200.00 for GLASA!.... On December 18, the LFHS Varsity presented the GLASA Falcons with four new sleds at an on-ice presentation, followed by a friendly scrimmage game and post-game pizza party at Lake Forest College. Thanks to donations like this one, GLASA's continued success is certain! Thank you, LFHS Varsity!

    As for game highlights...the LFHS Varsity came ready to play and defend their title from last season....and although they had plenty of scoring chances....the GLASA Falcons skated to a 3 to 0 victory!

    GLASA Falcons hosted Falcons Bantam Majors on January 29th

    The GLASA Falcons hosted the Falcons Bantam Majors at Hot Shot Ice Arena on Sunday, January 29 skating to an 6 to 1 victory. The game puck went to #36 T. East for his amazing top-shelf goal from the point! And although the Bantam Majors created plenty of scoring chances, stellar goaltending by #1 D. Melchiorre stopped the Bantam Major at the goal line on all but one shot. Credit goes to M. Moderwell for the loan Bantam goal with an assist from T. Mulier. GLASA Falcons commended the Bantam Majors for closing the gap left behind the previous week by the Midget Majors' 8 to 0 loss! Way to go Bantam Majors! Great victory GLASA Falcons! 

    GLASA Falcons hosted the Falcons Midget Majors on January 22nd

    The GLASA Falcons welcome the Falcons Midget Majors to a scrimmage game at Hot Shot Ice Arena on Sunday, January 22. The GLASA Falcons skated to an 8 to 0 victory! Amazing effort GLASA Falcons! Enjoy a quote from a parent of a Midget Major player:

    What a terrific experience! Our boys got smoked. Those sled hockey players don't mess around, and they are REALLY good!

    My son (Austin) had a blast! I don't think he originally expected to, which makes it even more special.

    We will definitely be donating as well. I have not had so much fun cheering for a hockey team in a really long time! 

    GLASA Falcons at Hornets Janary 17th/ReMatch on Feb 26th

    The GLASA Falcons traveled to Addison Ice Arena to face off against the Hornets on January 17. And although the Hornets skated to a 4 to 1 victory, the GLASA Falcons are looking forward to a rematch on home ice at Hot Shot Ice Arena on Sunday, February 26. Come out and cheer the GLASA Falcons on to victory! GO GLASA FALCONS!!! 

    GLASA Welcomed RIC Blackhawks - January 15th

    On Sunday, January 15, the GLASA Falcons welcomed the RIC Blackhawks "B" team to Hot Shot Ice Arena (HSIA) for a friendly scrimmage game. #14 Patrick Byrne, USA Paralympic Gold medalist, was in the house! The GLASA Falcons skated to victory, which fueled the RIC Blackhawks' desire to come back to HSIA this season on Sunday, March 4 for a rematch. Come out at see a Paralympic Gold medalist in action! GAME ON!!!

    FHA Welcomes Coach Tony Fritz as Head Coach!

    We proudly welcome Coach Fritz as head coach of the GLASA Falcons Sled Hockey TeamFHA proudly welcomes Tony Fritz to our coaching line up as head coach of the GLASA Falcons Sled Hockey Team. Coach Fritz recently retired from Lake Forest College (LFC) after 32 years at the helm of the men’s hockey team. In his tenure, Coach Fritz posted 351 career hockey victories and is ranked among the top 50 in NCAA history. Coach Fritz also led LFC’s soccer team to victory, accumulating 145 wins and eight conference titles in 16 seasons. His 496 combined-sport victories are the most by any coach in LFC history.

    Coach Fritz, Tim Brennan and many other volunteers will kick off the sled season Sunday, October 17 at Hot Shot Ice Arena (HSIA). FHA has expanded its partnership with Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) to include youth and adult teams serving athletes and veterans with a visual or physical impairment.
