Dear Falcons Families,

We are pleased to announce the 2013-2014 Travel Hockey season has officially begun! The tryouts for CSDHL, NIHL & Girls are swiftly approaching. Please find below the process and procedures for Falcons tryouts. We kindly ask you to the read the below thoroughly so you and your player(s) are properly prepared.

FALCONS 2013-2014 TRAVEL TRYOUT PROCEDURES

1. The U12 & U14 Girls tryouts shall begin on Tuesday, August 27th and conclude on Wednesday, August 28th.
2. The CSDHL tryouts will begin Sunday, September 1st and conclude Monday, September 2nd.  
3. The NIHL tryouts will begin Tuesday, September 3rd and conclude Sunday, September 8th. (Mite U8s shall have tryouts the week of September 16th.) 
4. The Falcons conduct an "Open Tryout" process for all players interested in competing for a roster position. Everyone is welcome to tryout and the schedules are posted on the Falcons Hockey Association website located at: www.falconshockey.org.

In regards to CSDHL tryouts, unless a player is truly interested and qualified to play for a CSDHL team, we kindly ask they not attend. Rather, please attend the NIHL tryouts beginning on September 3rd. Each player must be registered with the Falcons Hockey Association for the 2013-2014 season prior to tryouts (and pre-tryout clinics). There will be Falcons representatives at the rink to check in each player and answer any questions.

FALCONS 2013-2014 TRAVEL TRYOUT PROCESS

Upon check in, players will receive a helmet label. IMPORTANT: BRING A WHITE AND BLACK JERSEY TO EACH TRAVEL TRYOUT. At the check-in table, they will be told which color to wear.

The Hockey Directors will evaluate all the players during the tryouts.

After each day of tryouts, a list of players (first initial and last name) will be posted on the Falcons website that evening. If a player's name is on the list, they are requested to continue with the tryout process. If a player's name is not on the posted list, a team has selected the player.

Once tryouts are completed, Head Coaches will contact the players to introduce themselves and provide information on when and where the team will begin their season.

Town Hall Meetings

We will be holding age based Town Hall Meetings during the tryout process. We encourage all parents to attend. These meetings will give an overview of the process, cover expectations, share other pertinent information and answer questions.

The Town Hall Meetings schedule is as follows (all meetings are held at Centennial and should last approximately 30 minutes):

Sunday, August 18th - 9:30 am - Squirts and 1:00 pm - Bantams

Wednesday, August 21st - 6:45 pm - PeeWees

Saturday, August 24th - 2:30 pm - Girls

Sunday, August 25th - Noon - Mites and Midgets
