Dear Falcon Membership:
We hope you are enjoying the summer and staying cool but also beginning to think about hockey. The 2017-2018 hockey season, our 50th anniversary, is fast approaching! We are extremely excited about the upcoming season and welcome all returning and new hockey families.
The Hockey Professionals and Board have been working hard over the past few months to enhance our program. We continue to invest and improve upon the already best coaching lineup in Illinois Youth Hockey. The core objective is to continue focus on development of our players. We believe hockey is for everyone and that is why we have a program for every skill level from CSDHL to a robust House Program. The combination of these offerings and our Hockey Professionals guarantee a wonderful experience for both player and parent. The Falcon's had a very successful season last year on many fronts and we look forward to building off these impressive accomplishments.
Included in this year's travel fees are a Falcons cinch sack containing:
Pro-knit home and away socks
Color Coded Practice jersey & socks
Wicking dryland Falcons training shirt
Knit toque with Falcons Logo
If you are a returning player and need a new jersey due to size you will be charged separately..
If you need a new uniform due to number seniority or a new player FHA will supply your home and away jerseys at no cost.
Fittings for jerseys and warm-ups will start at conditioning clinics.
As we all know, the true strength of our organization are our Falcons families! To further enhance our program, you will see we have a "Volunteer" section in our registration. Please consider the volunteer options as an opportunity where you, the families, can continue to strengthen the the overall Falcons community. With your time and support, our Hockey Professionals will continue to give your player(s) the best coaching available in Illinois Tier II hockey. A slight change this year is ALL families will be charged the "OPT-OUT" fee. Upon completion of their volunteer service (if chosen) the family will be refunded the fee.
See below for questions regarding the volunteer section.

Have a great season!

Q: Why are Falcons requiring Volunteer work?
A: Falcons is a non-profit organization and parent volunteers are critical to its mission of developing young hockey players. Historically, activities required to run the organization have been handled by a few volunteers. This was not sustainable as the Falcons’ organization continues to grow and experience success, and many different youth sports organizations in the area employ a similar model. We hope that parents will find a few hours of volunteer work a rewarding experience for the benefit of their children.
Q: Why is there an ‘Opt Out’ Fee? Why is there a cost difference between Travel and House?
A: Like many elite sporting organizations in Illinois, Falcons parents are able to “Opt Out” of Volunteering. There are approximately 200 different opportunities to volunteer across house and travel, therefore be sure to register as early as possible to secure one of these spots. Support for the Travel program requires more hours and activities than house. The seasons, player and time requirements are longer and more frequent for travel program participants. Therefore, the Opt Out fee has been determined to factor in the differences in commitment between House and Travel Programs.
Q: What if I chose not to volunteer?
A:You are able to ‘Opt Out’ Options based on participation level, whether your child is a travel or house player.
